Windows 7 classic menu: where is it?
Unlike Vista, which introduced the start menu search feature, but provides the option to revert to the XP classic menu, Windows 7 does not provide a classic menu option.
This is unfortunate if you are used to using the classic menu.
The only remedy is to get used to the new menu system.
The start menu search feature has the advantage that applications are very easy to find, and no set-up is required. Compare this to the classic menu that needed endless customization to make it efficient and effective. Did you even know you could customize it? Many either didn’t, or didn’t know how.
Once you get used to the start menu search approach, you may find you like it better. No customization is required, and you can open any application with just a few keystrokes. You may even have forgotten if you had installed a particular application. The start menu search interface makes it easy to find out.
It would have been a good idea to leave the classic menu intact, but losing it is not the end of the world.
How about you, what do you think?
