Windows 7 will be available for download in August.
The downloads will not be available to everyone. To gain access, you must be one of the following:
- An IT professional
- An independent software or hardware vendor
- A Microsoft Partner
Independent software and hardware vendors will be able to gain access to Windows 7 downloads starting 6 August 2009. The same goes for IT professional.
Microsoft Partners will have to wait until 23 August 2009.
The rest of us will have to wait until 22 October to get our hot little hands on Windows 7, either on a new computer, or as boxed software.
